Monogollon Rim Adventure Challenge

The Coconino National Forest will play host to adventure racing for the first time as the 4 Corners Adventure Series launches the adventure season in April 2021. Located just south of Flagstaff, AZ the Coconino National Forest provides a spectacular back drop for outdoor activities of all flavors.
The opening race of the series will serve as a taste of adventure for those in the southwest region drawing competitors from Phoenix, Albuquerque, Las Vegas and as far away as Los Angeles. Each team of three will experience the navigational challenges, changing weather conditions and multiple disciplines as they cover up to 150 miles in 12-18 hours.
Using a topographic map and compass teams will utilize mountain bikes, pack rafts, their feet and their wits to work through the course from check point to check point. All check points will be pre-plotted on the maps.
A COVID19 Mitigation plan will be implemented to comply with local and federal mandates regarding social distancing and public health risks. Should the event be cancelled due to COVID19 restrictions, all entry fees will be refunded. Each team will be responsible for providing their own support crew. This crew will be responsible for transporting the team and mandatory gear as necessary.
Each team of three can be comprised of co-ed or same gender competitors. Teams where each athlete is age 40 or older on race day will be eligible to compete in the Master’s (40+) Category. To be eligible for cash prizes in the Co-ed Division there must be a minimum of 10 registered teams. All Co-ed teams, including Masters, will be eligible for monetary prizes. Three-person team entry fee $450 before February 28, 2021. Entry fee on March 1, 2021 or later $600.00. The field will be limited to 60 teams.
Division winning teams: Co-ed (Open and Masters), Same Gender (Open, Masters, Men, Women) will receive an entry into the Rio Grande Adventure Challenge in Taos, NM May 7-9, 2021. All teams will receive three entries into a drawing for a paid entry fee ($3,600.00) for the Old Spanish Trail Adventure Challenge contested in Utah in June 2021.
Registration will open December 28, 2020.
